EXIF Verified
Photo Evidence
Snap a photo at the waypoint and MotoTracker validates the GPS coordinates embedded in the file server-side. Your phone's camera does the work — coordinates baked into every shot, checked against the waypoint, credited automatically. No faking locations.

Snap a Photo at the Waypoint
Open the app, select the waypoint, and take your photo. Your phone's camera embeds GPS coordinates into the image automatically — no extra steps. Make sure location services are on.
How it works
Your camera is the evidence
Ride to the waypoint and snap a photo
Open the MotoTracker app, select the waypoint, and take your shot. Your phone's camera automatically embeds GPS coordinates into every photo. Keep location services enabled for clean EXIF data.
App submits with GPS intact
The photo is compressed to 70% quality — keeping file sizes manageable — while preserving all EXIF metadata. If Android stripped the GPS during image processing, the app captures device GPS at upload time as a fallback.
Server validates coordinates and credits
MotoTracker extracts GPS coordinates from the EXIF data and calculates the distance to the waypoint centre using the Haversine formula. Within radius — automatic credit and instant leaderboard update. Outside radius — queued for manual review.
Built right
Verified at the file level. Not the trust level.
EXIF GPS validation
Coordinates are read from the image file itself — not from anything you type. The data comes from your phone's camera hardware at the moment of capture. No spoofing.
Open checkpoints
Some waypoints don't require a precise location match — they just require proof a GPS-enabled photo was taken. Coordinators configure this per waypoint.
Automatic crediting
Photos that pass EXIF validation are credited instantly — no coordinator approval needed. Points land on the leaderboard before the upload response even returns.
Flagged for review — not rejected
Submissions that fail automatic validation aren't discarded. They're queued for the coordinator to inspect and manually approve or reject. Nothing is lost.
Diary photos
Attach additional supporting images to a submission — a wider shot of the location, a landmark in the background, or context that helps verify your visit.
Android GPS fallback
Android sometimes strips EXIF during image copy. The app detects this and captures device GPS at upload time, sending it as a verified fallback alongside the file.
